These are genuine Czochralski-pulled laboratory-grown Alexandrites — true synthetic Alexandrite, not simulated Alexandrite. They are chemically identical to natural Alexandrite, the chromium-bearing variety of chrysoberyl (BeAl?O?).
One of Alexandrite's most fascinating characteristics is its dramatic colour change. These stones can appear green in sunlight and purple in artificial or candle light. The depth and transparency of the stone can affect the strength of this colour change, with our larger stones generally showing a more dramatic change than the smaller stones.
For example, the smaller 6mm stones can retain some green colour under artificial light at certain angles, whereas the larger 9x7mm Pear displays a striking green colour in sunlight and a vivid purple colour under artificial light.
These are not simulated Alexandrites. Simulants are different materials that only imitate the appearance of Alexandrite. These stones are genuine lab-created Alexandrite, grown as synthetic chrysoberyl using the Czochralski method and possessing the same fundamental chemical composition and physical properties as natural Alexandrite.
All of the Alexandrite stones shown below are internally flawless.
These are not simulated Alexandrites, these are true Lab Created Alexandrite stones. Often simulated stones are wrongfully sold as lab created, but these are true lab created stones and guaranteed to match the chemical and physical properties of a natural Alexandrite. All the alexandrite stones below are internally flawless.
Colour Change Colour Description
We try to match the colour of the photos as close as possible with the colour of the gemstone, but like natural stones cz varies slightly in colour within the material and depth of colour varies with the size of the stone. Colour descriptions vary online and screen colour settings vary, so it is impossible to be spot on with the colour.
If you have photos or videos of this stone, or artwork or jewellery you have made using this stone, you can upload
